It all begins with an idea. Collage has become an essential element in creating ideas for paintings and also elevating the painting by incorporating elements of collage into the piece. These images were used for inspiration and also as a reference in some of my recent works.
The Home series is based on the feeling that is growing up in a small town. The feeling of always wanting to escape but also the guilt of leaving behind the comfort of home; the longing for personal space but the fear of being alone.
The collage works below reflect quick reactions to how images interact with one another. They show just how much depth you can create with many images and also very few.
